Mumbai Transharbour Link
Project type
Spatial and graphic design
Date
January 2024
Location
Mumbai
The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) stands as a pivotal project not only for Mumbai but as a national landmark, shaping the future of India's infrastructure. Our contribution to this monumental endeavor involved the design of the Command and Control Centre, a nerve center overseeing the tolling system and monitoring the entirety of this architectural marvel.
The interior design of the space focuses on creating a conducive environment for operators and staff, optimizing their efficiency and comfort during extended working hours. The layout integrates ergonomic workstations, state-of-the-art display systems, and adaptable lighting to enhance the overall user experience.
Special attention has been given to acoustics and soundproofing to ensure a quiet and focused atmosphere within the control room. The use of linear ceiling and wall panels serves a dual purpose – not only do they enhance the spatial perception, but they also contribute to a sense of continuity, symbolizing the connectivity that the bridge brings to the region.
The space incorporates visual narratives that showcase the technological features along with representation of the local environment - a portrayal of flamingos against the backdrop of the sea bridge adds a touch of regional identity, a celebration of Mumbai's unique biodiversity.
